Our household can’t survive without peanut butter. When we first moved here I searched the shelves and only found expensive imported brands. I started to dig a bit deeper and found that many shops sell it freshly made (some even make it right in front of you) without added oil and sugar. Here are the top places/brands I’ve found for 100% nut peanut butter. It’s worth noting, I’ve only found smooth peanut butter, not crunchy options. Many of the places below also sell other nut butters like hazelnut, cashew, almond, etc.
Abu Odeh
Abu Odeh Gold is a supermarket with 2 locations in Amman. You can find the peanut butter in the fruit section and you’ll even see the peanut press where they make it fresh.

Al Rayhan
Al Rayhan is a chain of roasteries across Amman where you can find so many things besides nuts. They have a peanut press where they make your peanut butter fresh right in front of you without any sugar or oil additives.
Price: 3 JD for 400 grams (sometimes they have sales where it’s 1.99 per jar)

Brandless Eating
A brand by Dr. Rafael Angelo, you can find all types of nut butters, not just peanut. All nut butters are organic and 100% nuts.

Kabatilo
Kabatilo started in 1953 as a sugar mill in Amman and has expanded into other areas including spices, herbs, nuts, coffee, etc. They have all types of freshly made nut butters like peanut, hazelnut, almond, cashew, and chocohazelnut.

Hypermax
Hypermax launched in late 2024 after the successful boycott of Carrefour in Jordan. With over 34 branches in the Kingdom, you can find a stall inside the hypermart where they make fresh nut butter (peanut, cashew, etc.).
