If I have to pick just one thing that Jordan does well, I pick the country’s selection of bread. I’m not just talking about traditional Jordanian bread, but also the wide range of not-so-Middle Eastern bread. From French baguettes, German Vollkornbrot to my personal favorite, sourdough, you can find pretty much any type of bread you’re looking for in Amman. And if you need gluten-free, sugar-free, or vegan-friendly, you can find that too!

Crust Artisanal Bakery

Specializing in bakes using local ingredients whenever possible as well as French desserts. Crowd favorities that you must try are the Cinnamon Twist and Crust Sourdough.
Note: I’m putting this bakery first as it’s my personal favorite

A small bakehouse that loves making artisan breads and pastries, sourcing local ingredients when possible.

Foron Abd

Foron Abd offers a wide range of baked goods like bread, croissants, bagels, baguettes, ciabatta, and keto options.

Komat Qash

This local bakery has a couple of branches in Amman and you can grab a hot drink and pastries or bigger loaves to take home.

Flour & Fire

This small pizzeria specializes in sourdough crust, but they also sell other types of sourdough bread like loaves and pita bread.

Paradise Bakery

Started in 1996, the four branches across Amman offer a massive range of traditional and international products. Just walking into the bakery, you can find anything you’re looking for.

Crumz has been around since 2003 and offers a wide range of bread, pastries, and cakes. It’s also open as a sit-down restaurant cafe. My only complaint about Crumz is they allow smoking indoors at both restaurants.

Sufara Bakery is a famous bakery in Amman that has a huge collection of kaak, bread, pastries, and Arabic sweets.
