List updated in late 2024.
One of my favorite parts of Jordan is the landscape and a few weekends ago I got to experience new views on horseback at the Al Reef Equestrian Club ( مركز الريف الاردني للفروسية). Located about 1 hour outside of Amman in Jalad, Salt, it’s a beautiful place to spend time outdoors.

Since posting this back in 2017, things have changed and we’ve been exploring horseback riding for other reasons than just filling a weekend with no plans. Why did things change? Kids! That means this time around when we were scoping out horseback riding it was for classes. Currently, my son does horseback riding at Alia Alassaf Academy in Madaba. Private classes are about 25 JD for 30 minutes. Here are some other equestrian clubs and academies where you can find everything horse activity-related:

Nice blog post, we were recommended to the Hijazistables in Madaba. They are fairly close to Amman and they have lovely horses and great guidance on the trail rides.

Also the Alia Alassaf Academy! 🙂 A very nice place for the horses and also for the people. We have a lot of animals that the kids can play with. Not too far away from Amman. Is now on a temporary place a little further away for a while and then they move back to the area Greenland, to their own build stable. Also owned by a Dutch woman, with certificates from a Dutch study. I have now my internship from the Netherlands at this stable 😀
